چکیده

The exposure of the aquatic ecosystem to heavy metal from both natural and anthropogenic activities are on rise have harmful health effects all organisms human. This study assessed concentrations metals (Fe, Pb, Cd, Cr, As Zn) in surface water, sediments fish tissues Ose River examined histopathological changes two species (Mormyrus rume Clarias garienpinus). Surface samples were collected procured Ondo State, Nigeria February April 2021. Heavy digestions done laboratory using HNO3/HCl while determined Atomic Absorption Spectrometer. Histopathological alterations also assessed. Bioaccumulation factor (BAF), ecological risk index potential level used assess investigated concentrations. In concentration Cd (0.010–0.030 mg/l) (0.010–0.05 exceeded WHO limits 0.01mg/l respectively Fe, Cr Zn within limits. sediments, except Pb As. Seeing hence, more comprehensive assessment river is recommended.
